Defining the Black Woman

Defining the Black Woman

Excerpts from “Scriptures for the Black Nation”

There stands only one other created edifice as grand as the Black man; it is the beautiful Black woman.
The Black woman is the perfect extension of the Black man.
She is adorned with such delicate beauty and wisdom.
Without her, there can be no Black man.
The Black woman is never to be known as the weaker sex.
She is as vital to the Black man’s existence as the very air that he breathes.
To the Black man, she is the embodiment of all life; she is Earth.
The true Black woman is as dedicated to the Black man as the sun is to the day.
It is not well for your Black man to be alone; therefore did your God bestow upon him the gift of the Black woman.
She too should spend her days laboring for the good of herself, her family, and her people.
No dishonor or disgrace should ever be found in her…..

Unity of the Black Man

Unity of the Black Man

Excerpt from “Scriptures for the Black Nation”

You cannot call yourself a Black man if you are not connected positively with your fellow Black man.
There can be no Black people without true unity.
It is never good to always live alone; therefore, let go of your selfishness and join in unison with your people.
The people who stand together shall never fall, but shall rise perpetually.
The Black man that abides in the righteous counsel of his people shall bring joy to all his people. He shall also find peace in the eyes of his God.
Your strength lies in your oneness; your weakness in your division.
It was this mighty unity of the Black nation which has helped to establish the freedoms which your present people enjoy today.
Your people rejoice when in unity, but mourn when in separation.
From the beginning were you made male and female, meaning that you were intended one unified people, each with something to aid the other, never many separate entities.
He that loves the unity of his people loves himself without end.

Black Woman's Beauty, More Than Skin-Deep

8. The Black woman never needs to exploit her feminine figure to showcase her splendor.
9. She does not need to compete with her fellow sisters to prove her worth.
10. She rises from her bed in a perfect state of marvelous beauty.
11. No touch-up is required to maintain her beauty.
12. She has no need for extravagant jewelry, because her feminine Blackness is a fine jewel all in itself.
13. Whether her breasts be small, average or large; they are exactly the right proportions of her natural beauty.
14. She has no need of verbal praises of others to confirm what she already knows; she is the Black glory of beauty.
15. She can cover herself in the cloak of filthy mud, and still not hide the righteous wonder she really is.

17. She is wholly woman; she is Blackness; she is femininity; she is power; she is graceful intelligence; she is the goddess of all beauty.
18. The Black woman’s beauty is much more deeper than skin-deep.

Tools to Encourage the Healing of Black America

Tool #4

Improved Values

Actions and thoughts are driven by a certain underlying system of personal values. These values may be so rooted within that you may not even be aware of them. Some values are gained from cultural practices, religion beliefs or several other sources.

Regardless of the source, any values that are allowed to become guidance for Black America must be rooted in upright humane principles.

The reasons behind Black America’s physiological, psychological and cultural illnesses can always be traced back to the quality of the individual value systems. If your values are not founded in humane equality, then you will be incapable of viewing or treating yourself or others righteously. A weak value concept leads to the lack of self empowerment. It prevents you from rightfully respecting the humanity of others.

True values are not based on the opinions and practices of the masses. True values are not limited to specific religious practices or dogmas. Such value is not defined by
pointless materialism. True values are also not determined by cultural upbringing; although individual values are influenced by individual cultural environment. Real values are those qualities which hold the complete human race in high regards. Such true value does not discriminate or segregate any part of the human race. It empowers your being to rise to the heights of its creation, and to carry with you all the valuable hues of mankind.

In instituting change, you must back that change with sound values. You must decide how much you value your individual self growth. You must also decide how much you humanely value and respect the values of others. If you do value yourself to the degree where you can institute positive change, positive change will occur. Not only will it be the guiding force in your individual life, but also in the lives of others who you may come in contact with.

Tool #3
Implementing Change

When you have mastered self discipline and acknowledgment; you must then begin the actual process of gradually implementing positive change in your life.

It is a modification of the method in which you, Black America, desire to view yourself. If you’ve discovered in the present acknowledgment of your inner-self, that there are issues that you do not wish to remain a part of the future you; begin to visualize yourself free of such issues. Allow those things which afflict you to be replaced by appropriate solutions.

For example, if you find that you have an irrational fear or distrust with persons of another race or religion; make a decision to seek to better understand that race or religion. In doing so, you will be more capable of gaining mutual respect for them,
giving space for such irrational emotions to be transformed into a new feeling of humane sensibility.
But know that change only begins as thought, but it is only made actual by real actions on
your part. Even a thought must be maintain honestly if it is to become a catalyst of inner change. True psychological change is a dedicated work in progress.
Let every day be an opportunity to recognize and labor for the cause of self improvement.
Changing from a state of negative to one positive may for some Black Americans, prove a difficult task.
But it is for all Black Americans afflicted with any destructive issues, a most necessary task. Without this mental rebirth of mentality, there can be no healing within the person. If there is just a few among you that are trapped by their own mental illnesses; that sickness will eventually inflict the whole of the Black society.
Therefore, these simple tools should not only be directed at the individual self, but the collective whole of the Black American community.

Tools to Encourage the Healing of Black America

Self Acknowledgement
Once the attitude of self discipline is attained, the profound moment of self acknowledgement must then be tackled. once Black America’s mentality has been guarded with self discipline, such new-found discipline is focused towards the task of acknowledging or accepting the actual psychological state of its existence.

Before there can be any manner of improving change; you, Black America, must honestly admit to yourself that you are in a position in which your internal understanding is in error.
This is indeed an essential tool in the great process of self healing. This is the diagnostic stage of the healing development. If you refuse to come to the realization that your inner-self is in need of amendment, then there can be no proper antidote in which to use in correcting your flaws. Not even the most renowned medical physician can rightly treat a patient’s illness until the source of the underlying problems is determined.

When the root cause is determined, only then can a proper treatment be applied. The same goes for the state of Black America.
The personal psychological issues must be allowed to be brought to the surface.
Examine yourself. If there exist any qualities within which are detrimental to your individual advancement, acknowledge it without fear. Whether it be relationship issues, addictions or narcissistic issues; they must be recognized and confronted before you can truly move forward on the journey of mental, physical and spiritual reconciliation.
